Technical Details

I adapted a low resolution model I originally made for Microsoft Train Simulator which in itself was adapted from a high resolution model I downloaded off the internet. The mesh modeling work was done in 3D Canvas. I wrote a simple display program that applies a custom shader to the chrome parts. The painted body components are rendered with a basic phong shader that doesn't do a bad job of representing the hand polished enamel of the day. The flat edges on the tires and headlites hilite the low poly nature of the model - I'm definitely going to have to learn more about subdivision surfaces to get a smoother look on future models.
